Check out this list of good-natured food pranks to play on your family (or to play on each other!) .
Cut a few E’s out of brown construction paper. Place them in a brownie pan and cover the pan with foil. Tell your family to help themselves to some “brown E’s.”
Save an empty mayonnaise jar and fill it with vanilla pudding. Wait until there are people around, then scoop some of the pudding from the jar into a bowl and dig in. Pretend not to notice the horrified looks from your audience.
Leek in Sink
Place a leek in your sink and tell your family, “Oh, no! There’s a leek in the sink!” This also works with a clog-type shoe. (“There’s a clog in the sink!”)
Pear in Shoebox
Place a pear in a shoebox. Hand the box to a friend and say, “I saw some shoes that I thought you would like, so I bought you a pear.”
Not Your Average Nachos
Make nachos for dessert! Add yellow food coloring to vanilla yogurt to make “cheese sauce” and add green food coloring to coconut flakes to make “lettuce.” Top cinnamon pita chips with the “cheese sauce,” “lettuce,” diced strawberries as tomatoes, and raisins as black beans. Add a dollop of vanilla yogurt as the sour cream on top.
