Highlights announces the appointment of Lece Lohr as President of Highlights Consumer Business. Lohr will lead the company in accelerating its core focus on customers, and will position the business and its diverse product lines as one consumer brand, to better meet and engage customers across multiple touchpoints and channels. Additionally, she will evaluate opportunities to develop new product categories, services and experiences that will enrich and enhance consumers’ lives.
"The addition of a Consumer Business President is a key element of a strategic multi-year evolution of the organization. Thanks to the momentum we've seen, not just in our magazines, but also in our retail and ecommerce, digital products and global footprint, we are well positioned to increase our impact,” said Kent Johnson, CEO of Highlights for Children, the parent company of Highlights Consumer Business. "We had three distinct criteria for the role; someone with an insatiable passion for the customer, the proven ability to grow brands and the skillset to lead and develop high-performing teams – Lece is all three. She brings the exact experience, leadership and understanding of mission-driven brands to help Highlights further realize its potential.”
Lohr joins Highlights with over 40 years of retail experience, most recently as president at Justice for Girls where she was instrumental in identifying new markets and developing products to reach and resonate with tween girls, transforming the apparel retailer into a lifestyle brand. Throughout her tenure, she generated growth with a focus on creating unique products, fun experiences, superior service and a connected, inclusive community – including the launch of Justice Studios, a media division that promoted the brand's mission of empowering young girls with original, uplifting content.
"Highlights has a long history of serving, educating and inspiring children, and I couldn't be more thrilled to join as President and further its crucial mission of helping children become their best selves," said Lohr. "It’s equally as important to work with a leader who sees the value in teamwork, customers and innovation, and I look forward to partnering with Kent to build on Highlights' successes to date and exploring the exciting opportunities ahead."
